IT'S PERSONAL 

I've painted more box designs than I can remember and there is always a story attached each customised design.

Immortalising a special toy or pet is a popular request . But it is often a sad story.  

Painting bereavement keepsakes are both challenging and rewarding.  A shared personal story is forefront when contemplating design and I often find myself painting something I would not normally attempt.  

It is truly a privilege to be asked to paint these pieces.

FLOWERS, FLOWERS EVERYWHERE

Floral designs are always popular - and make a great gift for all ages.

I am currently working a some new floral designs and colours which will be in my etsy shop soon.

 Christmas is coming...

My memory boxes have been selling very well now for a couple of years. Prior to last Christmas, an Etsy customer contacted me regarding the concept of my memory box painted in a Christmas theme as a gift to her mother. The idea was that the box would house a number of personalised Christmas decorations and be personalized with the family name . From there the idea has grown and I now paint many themed Christmas boxes . They really are a unique and very special gift. This picture show some of the boxes i've painted for this year's festive season. you can find them in my Etsy shop here  I absolutely love painting these and I have to say am becoming very proficient in painting Santas! So fancy a Christmas box for your house .. ??????

Chevron themed pieces are still proving to be very popular.

Here are some recent completed pieces for boys and girls - I particularly love the aqua and grey colorway. 

Pretty in Pink

Pretty Boy number 3 is complete ! I'm very pleased with how this one turned out,  he really makes a statement on the wall.  He measures 90cm x 60cm and is available - contact lynda@redlovesgreen.com.au to enquire.

Pretty Boys

My master plan for my painting has always been to continue to show a good cross section of the sort of work I can produce.   That includes contemporary works on canvas but I have to say I have been very busy with memory and christening boxes . Over the past 4 weeks I have made more of an effort t and the results are my two pretty boys pictured . I have submitted them to the Red Hill Art Show and now will wait to see if they are accepted - either way I am totally thrilled with these two pieces.

Both are 60cm x 60cm .  Definitely going bigger from here ! 

Where did that year go...?

I have neglected this blog somewhat this year , what with all the other forms of social media to showcase products, it can be quite a task to keep up.

I will make an effort to pop more pics up here as I now have a huge range of memory boxes to show - you can find them in a gallery by clicking on the memory box gallery icon . It shows my personal work as well as pieces I have supplied to Twiggywinkle baby boutique here in Melbourne .

So my last post for the year is a Christmas storage box to hold all the personalised baubles of the children and grandchildren. What a wonderful gift ! I will be definitely exploring this idea more in 2017.

What better way to celebrate the arrival of a new addition than a personalised baby box. This traditional pram design is handpainted in muted contemporary tones or you can opt to create your own colour scheme using this design . A name can be added along the front and birth details on the inside of the lid. Big enough to hold all the memories of the special occasion .

What's inside the box!

A montage of the bigger sized christening box I am now offering.

This box measures 48cm x 33cm x 14cm and weighs 4kg .

This particular box shown was painted to match a beautiful Ralph Lauren wallpaper in soft creams and taupes with pearl and metallic silver accents. 

Once filled with the christening outfit and accessories it becomes a lovely keepsake . 

The other box is the smallest size I offer - 25cm x 17cm x 10cm and is painted in the same shades but with a simpler version of the design . 

BEAUTIFUL BALLOONS

These images are a series of pieces painted to loosely match back to a beautiful Manuel Canovas fabric.  The balloon patterns translate very nicely onto the jewellery and memory boxes - in fact the pattern ideas that come from this are endless.. This was all custom ordered and I suspect the ages of the recipients will vary greatly. 

I am always very happy to match any art pieces or accessories back to a fabric being used in the interior ..

THE BIG BIG BOX

I have now added a bigger size box to my range .

It measures 48cmx33cmx14cm and as you can see by the comparison image below it is a decent size compared to the A4 size. 

This box is ideal for baptisms, christenings or just for storing loads of stuff.

The ice cream design is a custom order which shows another fabulous look with the candy stripe painted around the base of the box - the design and colour options are endless and you really do get a totally bespoke piece.. what a wonderful thing in our society of mass produced !

DID YOU KNOW.....

that I make customised table and chair sets ?  The table measures 88cm L x 59cmW x 53.5cm H.  The table length and width can also be customised .. height would stay the same to accommodate the chair size. The chair seat is 30cm H and the chair back is 59.5cm H . The table and chairs sets are made to order in Australia - then handpainted .  

The design is totally up to you !  Favourite book characters , animals and themes in colours to suit your space.  Available to Melbournites only  - please email to discuss your design requirements .. oh, and you need to allow 4 - 6 weeks for delivery .

MATCHING TO FABRIC

It is always exciting to be presented with the challenge of matching pieces to fabric .

This brightly coloured doll themed fabric was the inspiration for matching bookends, trinket box,village and footstool and provides the client with co -ordinating bespoke pieces .

THOROUGHLY MODERN GIRLS

 It's great to see the evolution of the modern nursery to include bold contrasts and eye catching metallics 

I have just completed two pieces with a geometric theme - bookends and a storage box. My colour palette is pink,peach metallic gold - all held together with the contrasts of charcoal and cream .
